Working Principle
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) uses magnetic fields to stimulate the cerebral cortex or peripheral nerves in a non-invasive and painless manner, thereby detecting or regulating and improving brain function. In clinical practice, TMS is often used to diagnose and treat central nervous system diseases and mental illnesses.
TMS is a painless, non-invasive and non-destructive neuromodulation technology.
Its use can be diagnostic and/or therapeutic. Effects vary based on frequency and intensity of the magnetic pulses as well as the length of treatment, which dictates the total number of pulses given.
A frequency ≤1Hz is low-frequency stimulation, which can reduce the excitability of neurons; a frequency >5Hz is high-frequency stimulation, which can increase the excitability of neurons.
Stimulation Head Size
Roud head: Large stimulation area, suitable for MEP detection.
∞ shape head: The magnetic field is strongest in the middle, suitable for positioning therapy.
Magnetic field strength: 6T, adjustable from 0 to 100%.
Stimulation frequency: 0.1Hz-100Hz, adjustable frequency.
Product Advantages
Liquid cooling intelligent circulation, can work continuously for a long time.
Real-time temperature monitoring, circulation status monitoring, liquid level monitoring.
Equipped with intelligent safety monitoring module and dynamic temperature control.
Embedded intelligent monitoring module can effectively avoid the risk of leakage and blockage, ensuring safe use.
Clinical Indications
Nervous system diseases: Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, dystonia, tic disorder, neuropathic pain, spinal cord injury.
Psychiatric system diseases: depression and mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia.
Application in analgesia and other diseases: patients with migraine, constipation, urinary incontinence, insomnia, tinnitus, and autism can also receive rTMS treatment
Clinical Contraindications
People with implanted metal or electronic devices: If the patient has implanted metal or electronic devices, such as pacemakers, neurostimulators, ear implants, deep brain stimulation devices, etc., TMS may interfere with the normal operation of these devices, so these patients are usually not treated with TMS.
Pregnant women: There is not enough research on the effects of TMS on pregnant women, so pregnant women are generally advised to avoid TMS treatment unless the doctor believes that the necessity of treatment outweighs the potential risks.
People with vascular malformations or tumors in the brain.
People with severe heart disease: Although uncommon, TMS may cause arrhythmia or other heart problems, so people with severe heart disease should avoid TMS treatment.
People with a history of epilepsy or a family history of epilepsy: High-frequency and strong stimulation has the risk of causing convulsions. High-frequency and strong stimulation is prohibited for patients with a history of epilepsy or a family history of epilepsy.
