The sputum expeller consists of a main unit, an air conduit hose, an inflatable bladder, and a handheld controller.
Scope of Application
The sputum-expelling function is used for airway clearance treatments during external chest treatments. It is suitable for patients who have difficulty expelling secretions or whose lung ventilation is impaired due to mucus obstruction. Additionally, it helps to promote airway clearance and improve bronchial drainage, facilitating the collection of mucus for diagnostic purposes.
Contraindications
Contraindications for vibration-assisted sputum expulsion:
1. Unstable head and/or neck injuries;
2. Active bleeding.
Contraindications for negative pressure suction:
1. Patients with skull base fractures;
2. Within half an hour after the administration of pulmonary surfactants via tracheal injection;
3. Patients with laryngeal or tracheal spasms.
